We are the oldest school in our city (Ciechanów, central Poland, 100 km north of Warsaw, the capital), with a history of over one hundred years. We are a comprehensive school in which students are guided by their chosen main field of study to extensive study subjects. Classes, which are called "profiles", are the following: humanities + law, humanities + journalism, mathematics + IT, mathematics + geography, biology + chemistry, biology + chemistry + medicine. All students learn 2 foreign languages - mainly English as the first compulsory foreign language and German/French/Russian/Spanish as the second foreign language. Our students are aged 16-19, they graduate after three years of study, with a high school certificate, which gives them the right to continue their studies at university. Over the years, we have participated in numerous projects with foreign partners: Socrates Comenius 2002-2005 with 4 schools (Italy, France, Bulgaria, England), a long-term school exchange with a German school (1980-2000, 2016- present), a school exchange with a French school (2006), a mobility project for teachers 2016-2017 (10 teachers took part in professional development courses abroad). The school has 700 students and 40 teachers. The team involved in the project is made up of six teachers of English, a teacher of German who was recently also qualified as an English teacher and a geography teacher, who is currently studying to become a teacher of English. All of them are involved in the project.
